Richard Parker HALSTED was baptised on 13 May 1832 at the Parish Church, St Giles without Cripplegate, City of London. In the census of 6 June 1841 at 3 Church Place, St James Garlick Hythe, London, he was listed as aged 9 born in county, the assumed son of John HALSTED.1 Richard was a Private in the 15th (The King's) Regiment Of (Light) Dragoons in 1851 at Bangalore.
Richard married Emily ROGERS on 25 December 1857 at Christ Church, Southwark, Surrey. He was a Corporal in the 6th Enniskillings Dragoons of full age, a bachelor residing at Barracks, Maidstone. His father was listed as John HALSTED, a Farmer. After Banns. The marriage was witnessed by Joseph STEVENSON and Jesse CHAUKLEY.2,3

In the census of 6 June 1841 at Stansfield, Yorkshire, he was listed as aged 11 born in county, the assumed son of Robert HALSTEAD.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at 30 Terminus Road, Brighton, Sussex, he was listed as single, a Machinist, aged 21 born Erringden, Yorkshire, a Lodger of John ROWLAND.2

Research Note: No details about Susanna can be found other than the birth of William. There is no signs of a Marriage nor can I find a death or re-marriage for her before William married again in 1860 - minid he stated then that he was a Batchelor. William HALSTEAD witnessed the marriage of David HALSTEAD and Elizabeth GOODIER on 26 December 1859 at Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire.3,4
William married Eliza GREENAWAY on 14 October 1860 at St Mary, Lambeth, Surrey. He was an Engineer of full age, a bachelor residing in Griffin Street. His father was listed as Robert HALSTEAD, a Farmer. After Banns. The marriage was witnessed by Jenny GILLETT and Joseph PHILLIPS.3,5

     Joseph HALSTED was born in 1837 at Brighton, Sussex. He was the son of Thomas HALSTED and Maria SEYMOUR. Joseph HALSTED was baptised on 15 January 1837 at Brighton, Sussex: St Nicholas, Brighton, SSX.
In the census of 6 June 1841 at Frederick Street, Brighthelmstone, Sussex, he was listed as aged 4 born in county, the assumed son of Thomas HALSTED.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at 42 Frederick Street, Brighton, Sussex, he was listed as a Palace Errand Boy, aged 14 born Brighton, the son of Maria HALSTED.2
Joseph married Mary Caroline CRUNDEN on 5 February 1856 at St Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex.3 In the census of 7 April 1861 at Globe Inn, South Gate, Chichester, Sussex, he was listed as married, a Railway Porter, aged 24 born Brighton, a Lodger of William FOWLER.4
