  • Notes
    • The only time I remember seeing Big Bill was when we were living on
the Wigman Farm just north and a little east of Claude. Must have
been about 1946 and Big Bill must have just gotten out of the Army.
Little Jack brought Big Bill by the house to visit with us. Little
Jack, Big Bill, my Father and we boys stood around outside at the
windmill and talked quite a bit - I don't remember how long. I
remember that Big Bill seem to brag more about his exploits than
anything else. Later in life we learned that he was on the police
force in Beaumont, Texas. I don't remember ever meeting his wife or
      children.
