    • BURNLEY WIDOW'S FATAL SEIZURE
      The death, under tragic circumstances, was reported yesterday of Martha Ann Waterworth (71), widow of a former clerk of works at the Burnley waterworks, of 4, Elim-view, Lane Head.
      It appears that during the past two years Mrs. Waterworth had been subject to fits of dizziness, but seemed in her usual health when her son, Daniel Waterworth left home for his work yesterday morning. When he returned at dinner-time the son found the vestibule door fastened on the inside, and the back door was also locked. With assistance, he forced an entry, whereupon he discovered his mother lying dead on her right side with her head under the bars of the fireplace.
      The left side of her face was scorched and covered with ashes. A portion of her blouse was burnt and it was apparent she had had a seizure whilst engaged in blackleading the firegrate. A blacklead pot and brushes were beside her.
