	THORNHILL MINER’S DEATH. Mr. Maitland yesterday held an inquest, at Thornhill on the body of Geo. Wm. Lodge, deputy at the Combs Colliery, who was killed by a fail of roof He had fired a shot according to the regulations, and it appeared to have shaken the rock above, for when he went with a miner named Goldthorpe to ascertain what effect the shot had had, a mass of store fell, killing him instantly and injuring his companion. The jury, in returning verdict of “Accidental death,” said no blame attached to any one. Goldthorpe is recovering. ,
