My 7 Feb 2001 e-mail to Ralph W. Johnson
"Hi Ralph - Wow, now I feel like one of the Doublemint twins - - - you know, "dbl your pleasure, dbl your fun" Ha! Ha! I started with one quandary and now have two - - - I'm hoping you can clear up the 2nd...the question arrises regarding the dates quoted in your message for Marium's birth of 7 Jan vrs 8 Jan 1744 as has been previously cited by Claude & Hester on p.12 of their 1985 publication [could you double check this with the article]. Also the date cited for Samuel's birth "December 7, 1761" which differs in the year 1761 vrs 1762 with Seversmith, Claude & Hester, and Hesters latest data on p.23...for the time being, I'm going to treat these two date issues as typos, until I hear back from you. Ralph's reply:
" Re: Fw: Isaiah S#95(G1412) HELP Feb 8, 2001 Gary, I double checked the article and what I typed was what was in the article. Just another point, possibility, that you can't believe everything you read in the papers. Zee (for Ralph)
Regarding the issue of the children - - - based on common sense and "Miriam must have died soon after the birth of Samuel, for Joseph and Micah Halsted were called the half-brothers of Samuel, by the late Attorney O. Smith Kinner, of Tunkhannock." I shall treat the birth of the rest of the children to a 2nd unnamed wife, and/or Jemima with a question mark beside her "c1756-1800+" dates. [Is it probable that Jemima was born 10 years earlier, thus making her 16 when Isiah's 2nd child was born?]
Thank you for your assistance Ralph. Gary "
