    • Dwight Halstead carries this individual as spouse of Ebenizer Thornton; however, Phebe Halstead, dau of Timothy & Keziah Tid was the one who on 2 Feb 1786 married "Job" Thornton. Notes from Seversmith:"perhaps married", Seversmith Suppl.p.1,490 "Page 1,249, line 15 from bottom of page. No.382 Phebe, perhaps married Job Thornton.- - - entry on p.1,249 for Phebe #382 "b. abt 1762, died after 1790, married 2 February 1786 to Job Thornton?"

In that Obediah's death date is shown as 19 Jun 1830, and he is credited with 9 children between 1790 and 1815, I tend to lean toward believing the marriage date cited by Josephine Frost over than that attributed to Hinshaw. Her data reads: "Obediah married Aug. 14, 1789, at Amawalk, N. Y., Meeting House for his second wife Phebe, b. July 5, 1770, d. May 7, 1855, daughter of Stephen Halstead of Stephentown, now Somers, N. Y."
