BACUP MAN KILLED BY CHARABANC.
An inquest was held at Bacup, yesterday, on Thomas Henry Halstead (42), cotton mill warehouseman, of Scarr-street, Bacup. It was stated that Halstead, who had been collecting fares on a motor charabanc, asked the driver to pull up. Before the latter did so, however, Halstead either jumped or slipped off the vehicle, which was travelling at 10 miles an hour. He was knocked down by the charabanc, which ran over him, and he died later. The only mark the body was an injury to the left temple. A verdict of “Accidental death” was returned.
