- Road Accident
An accident occurred at 12-20 p.m. on Tuesday when nine year-old Stephen Halstead, of 192 Skipton Hoad, slipped off the pavement and fell on to the wheel of a van (driven by Mr. Ronald Day, of 3 Bent Clough Farm) which was turning out of Oak Street into Varley Street. Stephen was taken to the Victoria Hospital, Burnley, with a broken bone in his foot, and an operation was performed.
