  There is no sign of a marriage of a Jane to a Thomas HALSTEAD, nor is there any sign of a death between the 1891 census and the re-marriage of Thomas in 1893 when he says that he is a widower. The two children, Thomas and Clara, appear not to have been registered under the name of HALSTEAD or any of its known variants.
