Robert Brush married a second time on 6 Feb 1733/1734 to a widow, Mary
Brush. It is suggested that this was the widow of Jacob Brush, Mary
(Rogers) Brush. Earlier in this same database it is stated that Mary
(Rogers) Brush married on 6 Feb 1733/1734, as his third wife, Lieutenant
Jonathan Bell of Stamford, Connecticut, born 14 Feb 1663 and died 6 Feb
1745. It is obvious that Mary (Rogers) Brush re-married, as the widow of
Jacob Brush, on 6 Feb 1733/1734. It is not obvious whether she married
Robert Brush or Lieutenant Jonathan Bell. Fortunate indeed, I find no
issue for either potential union, so there apparently would be no
descendants frustrated by this incongruity, but it is difficult to try to
enter the correct information. I am going to leave the union with
Jonathan Bell as the correct one simply because if I do otherwise he will
be an entry with no connection to the rest of the database. Perhaps in
time I will obtain the correct information.

Sooner than I expected. There was another Mary (____) Brush, widow of a
different Jacob Brush who subsequently married Robert Brush. Not only
were there the two men named Jacob Brush each married to a wife named
Mary, but each of the widows remarried on the same date. I think some
skepticism might be in order.
