Earliest known Halstead to live in Schley County, Georgia. Seaborn Konce and Martha Outlaw moved their family from Alabama to Schley County, Georgia in late 1859 or early 1860. They settled in the Lowe Community where Seaborn farmed and also served as a Rural Letter Carrier for the U. S. Postal Department. During the Confederate War, Seaborn Konce Halstead served throughout the duration. He died at age 77 on 18 April 1901.
