    • David Demaree and Betsy Melissa [Hillyer] Halstead moved to Iowa in 1872; Wardwell's letter to Ernest Wileder Halstead in May 1936 indicates David Wileder's 1st child, an infant Leet, Loot [Leigh] died at LaRue, Ohio in 18?7..in that we have the 2nd child of David Wileder, Harley Farnham born Jan 1869...I think it probable that David Wileder and Hannah [Farnham] Halstead married about the same time his brother Orange Billings did. Possibly the same date and place, as he and Orange Billings were veterans returning home from the Civil War. Thus it is probable that David Wileder married his bride also in 1867 and at La Rue. And it would seem that Wardwell's "18?7" would translate to that same year "1867" as that of the birth and death of Leigh.
