Myers - Hawley Wedding
Ridgefield, Conn., Oct, 6 - At high noon today Dr. T. Halstead Myers of New York and Miss Sadie Hawley were married here. The father, Henry E . Hawley, is one of New York's millionaires, whose county house here, Ashton Croft, is one of the finest mansions in Connecticut. The pictures que Congregational Church was trimmed in Autumn leaves and wild flowers in delicate tints. Lander of New York discoursed from Mendelssohn, Handel , Schumann, and other composers, while awaiting the bridal party. The processional was from ":Aida" and the recessional was the Coronation form the "The Prophet." The bridesmaids were Miss Margaret Grey Bacon, and Miss Laura Miller. The maid of honor was Miss Henrietta E. Hawley, youngest sister of the bride. Dr. Myers's best man was Henry Peirson Johnes, and the ushers were Dr. William F. Armstrong, Frank Cunningham, Dr. Lewis Rutherford Morris, and L. Munroe Davis, all of New York. The breakfast at Ashton Croft was provided by Sherry, and the decorations were by Dard of New York. Many guests came up from New York by special train, and there was a large number of people from Philadelphia, Boston, Lenox and other places."
