    • DAMAGES CLAIM Action By Film Producer
A chartered accountant told Mr Justice Paull in the Queen's Bench Division yesterday that he did not think a film producer injured in a road accident, would have completed two films in the twenty-one months he was away from work.
It was the third day of the hearing of an action brought by the producer. fifty-one-year-old Mr Henry Gratwick Halsted. of Wallace Court, Marylebone Road. London. N.W., who is claiming special damages of nearly £15.000 and also general damages for the loss of a leg and other injuries, in a road accident in January 1955.
Mr Halsted is suing the British Transport Commission and one of its lorry drivers. Mr Frank Charles Merritt. of Hillway. Porchester, who deny negligence and blame Mr Halsted for the accident.
The accountant, Mr Charles Rupert Atkinson. said that it would have been possible in ordinary circumstances for the plaintiff to produce two films in twenty-one months, but shortly before the accident. Mr Halsted had to find another star for a proposed firm "Two in a Bush.' and finding stars was not easy.
The hearing was adjourned until Monday.
