    • FUNERAL OF MR. JOHN HALSTEAD.
      The remains Mr. John Halstead, the well known musician, were laid to rest in Heptonstall Slack Cemetery, last Saturday As the body was borne into the chapel, Mr. A. I. Gill, organist performed "O rest the Lord". The Rev E. G. Thomas delivered a suitable address, after which the organist played "I know that my Redeemer liveth,’ and as the body was borne from the chapel the "Dead March" Messrs. W. Ingham, Ed. Ashworth, J.W. Fritton, John Pickles, C. W. Ashworth and A W Latham, members of Hope Chapel choir at the time Mr. Halstead was organist there, were the bearers. On Sunday morning those gentlemen attended Hope Chapel out of respect, and the choir sang the anthem "No shadows yonder" in the afternoon they attended Slack Chapel.
