[5] Todmorden & District News - SUDDEN DEATH
A young woman named Alice Halstead, aged 30 years, wife of Mr. Sidney Halstead, picker maker, 4, Lewis Street, Shade, died very suddenly on Saturday last, shortly after giving birth to a well-developed child. There was no doctor present at the time, consequently the police reported the case to the coroner. A medical certificate was given, however, showing that deceased had very recently been medically treated for heart disease, and the Coroner deemed an inquest unnecessary.
