    • MR. SELWYN HALSTEAD, a Halifax man lately resident in Bankfield Terrace, Barnoldswick, was the recipient of gold wristlet watch on Friday, presented to him during the lunch-time break by his workmates the Rolls-Royce establishment at Bankfield.
      Following six years as a charge hand in the tool room, Mr. Halstead is leaving the district to take charge of a boarding house at Blackpool. In making the presentation, Mr. W. Dracup, of the tool room staff, paid tribute to Mr. Halstead’s cheerfulness and popularity.
      In his younger days Mr. Halstead was well known amongst athletes in the Halifax district, both as a wing three-quarter for the Halifax Rugby League team, and also as a sprinter. Hie won numerous prizes on the track between 1915 and 1925.
