    Marriage 1887
    • According to the 1911 census however no marriage can be found
    Notes
    • According to the 1911 census they had been married 24 years however no sign of a marriage can be found. The births of both children were registered by the Charlotte who states that John is the father. However because she said that she was married to him he did not have to ne present.

It would appear that the marriage was created to cover the activities of his wife whether she knew of his other career has yet to be discovered.

His last court appearance was in 1895 and I can find no references to him in any UK census after his marriage. It is clear from the death certificate in Canada in 1945 that it is him. He says that he had been in Canada for 62 years which would make his arrival 1883 which was before his supposed marriage and all the court appearances.

Despite the details on the death certificate I can find John on no Canadian censuses either
