  Byrd is said to have settled in Northern Alabama (Mississippi Countr y) as did his brother Lewis. However, additional information has co me to light that this Byrd ended up in Arkansas. Byrd served in the War of 1812, Capt. Wm. Russells Company of Mounted Spie s, Tennessee Militia. He was a Private and was on Company Payroll fr om 04 October 1813 to 04 April 1814. He was paid $8.00 per month. By rd was wounded at Tehoopka, 27 March 1814.
