- Clearly this was a remarkable man. James Taylor waited until
he was about 56 years old to marry for the first time, sired
five children by the time he was 64, outlived his first wife,
and married for the second time at age 66 and died 22 years
later at the age of 88.
I have carefully reviewed the material from all of the
sources available, and all except those of Katherine Embry are
in concurrence with the dates entered in this record. I can
understand why she struggled with this entry as it is an
unusual saga.

Richard Erd has a very specific date of birth which is quite
compatible with the dates of births of the siblings of James.
Also, the note relative to his emigration derived from church
records place his birth as being in 1610. Therefore, I believe
Katherine Embry's relationship as being the son of John, and
the dates she gives as being an error.

incompatable with the data relative to the dates involved.
