- "signed a deed to Halstead Hall, near Woodhall Spa, in Lincolnshire.
The present Hall is believed to date from about 1485. The moat which
encircles the Hall was dug out about 1290 as a fortification around
the earlier mediaeval hall of the same site. Powerful Norman Knights
held Halstead after the Norman Conquest in 1066." quoted from 1991 or
'92 sales brochure from Rob't Bell & Co., Old Bank Chambers,
Horncastle, Lincoln, LN95HY advertising the sale of Halstead Hall in
Lincolnshire.
