William HALSTEAD

     William was also known as William Halstead ROPER. He and Edith HALSTEAD William does not apear on any census in the England and Wales. I am certain that he is attached to the correct Barnes HALSTEAD. There are only two that are known of in the UK and the other appears on every census with his parents or family.

The Barnes HALSTEAD, as his father, was a Letter Carrier in the 1881 census and the marriage shows that his father was a postman. I suspect that the family may have gone abroad and Wiilliam born there.

The family returned from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania arriving at Liverpool on the 9th July 1892.It is not helped by the fact that the US 1890 was destroyed by fire and that the BMD records for Philadelphia do not really start till 1906.

Both Edith and William were baptisted on 2nd November 1892 in St Chryoston, Bradford - Edith's clearly shows her place of birth as America

Edith HALSTEAD

     Edith HALSTEAD and William HALSTEAD William does not apear on any census in the England and Wales. I am certain that he is attached to the correct Barnes HALSTEAD. There are only two that are known of in the UK and the other appears on every census with his parents or family.

The Barnes HALSTEAD, as his father, was a Letter Carrier in the 1881 census and the marriage shows that his father was a postman. I suspect that the family may have gone abroad and Wiilliam born there.

The family returned from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania arriving at Liverpool on the 9th July 1892.It is not helped by the fact that the US 1890 was destroyed by fire and that the BMD records for Philadelphia do not really start till 1906.

Both Edith and William were baptisted on 2nd November 1892 in St Chryoston, Bradford - Edith's clearly shows her place of birth as America

The same notes apply to his sister Edith. Her married name was PITTS.1,2
