     Alice Maud HALSTEAD was born on 28 May 1901 at Halifax, Yorkshire.1 She was the daughter of Walter HALSTEAD and Mary Jane MURGATROYD. In the census of 2 April 1911 at 16 Thornton Lane, Bradford, Yorkshire, she was listed as aged 11 born Halifax, a Visitor of John MURGATROYD.2 Alice Maud HALSTEAD appeared on the 1939Register taken on 29 September 1939 in the household of Mary Jane HALSTEAD at Grassmere Grove, Brighouse, Yorkshire. She was single, a Weaver Gaberdines & Linens, born 28 May 1901.3
