Raymond Halstead of 18 Gale Street, an apprentice employed Mr. Bond, to whom the rope from the bull was handed, said he did not think there was a rope through the ring on the bull’s nose. He got hold the halter rope when on the bottom of the ramp. The bull jumped forward and he slipped from the ramp, the rope coming out of his hands. The bull went down Toad Lane, round the Broadway and along Entwisle Road, and he next saw it in the river near Heybrook School."³
