     Daniel SHAW was born in 1815 at Mossley, Lancashire.
Daniel married Jane PYATT on 1 August 1864 at St Mary, Stockport, Cheshire. He was a Grocer of full age, a widower residing in Dukinfield. His father was listed as Robert SHAW, a Farmer. After Banns. The marriage was witnessed by Thomas POTTS and James WILD.1,2
In the census of 2 April 1871 at 2 Gate Street, Dukinfield, Cheshire, Daniel was listed as aged 56 born Mosley, the Head of Household; a Grocer, living with his wife Jane.3
Daniel's death was registered in 1874 in the Ashton under Lyne registration district.4

     Research Note: The marriage of Elizabeth in 1896 states that her father was Thomas HALSTEAD. However no record can be found for the birth of an Elizabeth Ellen HALSTEAD to match. Her married name was BAKER.1,2
