Prudence JACKSON was born in 1835 at Stansfield, Yorkshire. She was the daughter of James JACKSON. In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as single, a Power Piecer, aged 18 born Stansfield, the daughter of James JACKSON.1
Prudence married Thomas HALSTEAD, son of John Sutcliffe HALSTEAD and Mary LORD, in 1859 at Todmorden, Yorkshire.2 In the census of 7 April 1861 at George Street, Langfield, Yorkshire, she was listed as married, a Cotton Weaver, aged 26 born Stansfield, the sister of Robert WHITAKER.3
Prudence's death was registered in 1862 in the Todmorden registration district.4

     John WHITAKER was born in 1787 at Cliviger, Lancashire.
John married Mary HALSTEAD on 29 January 1856 at St Chad, Rochdale, Lancashire. He was a Millwright aged 62, a widower residing in Bacup. His father was listed as James WHITTAKER, a Millwright. Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church, After Banns. The marriage was witnessed by Robert GRINDROD and Catherine SAMPSON.1,2
In the census of 7 April 1861 at 48 Gauxholme, Todmorden and Walsden, Yorkshire, John was listed as aged 74 born Cliviger, the Head of Household; living with his wife Mary, son Robert HALSTEAD.3

Mary GREENWOOD was born in 1799 at Walsden, Lancashire.
Mary married James HALSTEAD on 11 March 1821 at St Thomas, Heptonstall, Yorkshire. She was a spinster residing in Heptonstall. By Banns. The marriage was witnessed by James UTTLEY and William HORSFALL.1
In the census of 6 June 1841 at Gauxholme, Todmorden and Walsden, Lancashire, she was listed as aged 45 born in county, the assumed wife of James HALSTEAD (a Machinist, living with his assumed wife Mary and children Ann, John, Elizabeth, Charles and Robert.)2

     John HALSTEAD was born in 1801.
John married Elizabeth BARNES on 18 December 1834 at St Thomas, Heptonstall, Yorkshire. He was a Weaver from Erringden. By Banns. The marriage was witnessed by John UTTLEY and Richard HAWORTH.1
John died in July 1861 at Lob Mill, Stansfield, Yorkshire.2 John was buried on 29 July 1861 at Cross Stone, Todmorden, Yorkshire.
