Grace COLLING was born in 1816 at Erringden, Yorkshire. She was the daughter of Adam COLLING and Hannah HALSTEAD.
Grace married John HALSTEAD, son of George HALSTEAD and Mary HELLIWELL, on 10 February 1840 at St Thomas, Heptonstall, Yorkshire. She was a Dressmaker aged 24, a spinster residing at Bridge Royd, Stansfield. Her father was listed as Adam COLLING, a Farmer. Married in the Parochial Chapel according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England. The marriage was witnessed by John UTTLEY and John INGHAM.1,2 In the census of 6 June 1841 at Bridge Royd, Stansfield, Yorkshire, she was listed as a Dressmaker, aged 20 born in county, the assumed daughter of Adam COLLING.3
In the census of 30 March 1851 at Spring Side, Stansfield, Yorkshire, she was listed as aged 35 born Erringden, the wife of John HALSTEAD (a Grocer and Beer Seller, living with his wife Grace, son Edward, daughters Mary Ann and Sarah.)4

     Albert John WELSTEAD was born in 1898 at Isle of Wight, Hampshire.1
Albert married Muriel Minnie HALSTED, daughter of Frederick HALSTED and Minnie Louisa CHANDLER, in 1925 at Ryde, Isle of Wight.2 Albert John WELSTEAD and Muriel Minnie WELSTEAD were divorced in November 1934 at Portsmouth, Hampshire; Welstead v. Welstead. —Mr. H. S. Ruttle appeared for the petitioner, Mrs. Muriel Minnie Welstead. of 21, Millward Road. Ryde, Isle of Wight, who asked for a decree on account of the adultery of her husband. Albert Welstead, with a woman at an Island farm for some period in 1934. Evidence was given of this, and decree was granted with costs and custody of the two children of the marriage.3
Albert died before 1945.
