At St. Stephen's church, Burnley. on Saturday, the wedding took place of Mr. Clifford Halstead, son Mr. and Mrs. H. Halstead, of "Lonsdale," 33, West Park-avenue, St. Heller, Jersey, and Miss Alice Dobson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. Dobson. of 133 Healey Wood Road, Burnley. The church was decorated with yellow tulips.
Given away by her brother, Mr. E. Dobson, the bride was attired in a gown of white satin and spotted tulle, with a veil of tulle and headdress camellias. She carried a bouquet of tea roses. Misses Mary - Spencer (friend the bride) and June Dobeon. of Morecambe (niece), who wore turquoise dresses in crepe, with headdresses of pink tulle and feathers and carried bouquets of pink tulips, were the bridesmaids.
Mr. Peter Brown (groom's friend) was best man, and Mr. A. Dobson (bride's brother) and Mr. K. Waddington (groom's friend) were the groomsmen. Messrs. T. Hopwood and T. Crawford acted as ushers.
The service was conducted by the Rev. G. W. Markham. and the hymns, "O Love Divine" and "Lead us. Heavenly Father," were played on the organ by Miss Woodhead.
Following reception the Co-op. Cafe, the couple left for the honeymoon London and Jersey the bride travelling in a powder-blue two-piece, with a blue and brown herringbone coat and brown accessories.
A case of fruit spoons from the staff the Collector of Taxes, Manchester-road, where the bride is employed, was amongst the presents received.
Mr and Mrs. Halstead reside at 312, Barden-lane.3
His wife, Alice, died on 21 October 1974 at 44 Nelson Road, Pakefield, Lowestoft, Suffolk, at the age of 48.4,5
Clifford died on 17 July 2015 at Norfolk at the age of 90.6,5 His estate was probated on 18 November 2015 at Ipswich, Suffolk..5

Research Note: STONEYHOLME Methodist Church, Burnley, was decorated with pink tulips and white lilac on Saturday for the wedding of Miss Margaret Tattersall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Tattersall, of 22, Clive-street, Burnley, to Mr. Clifford Halstead, son of Mr. and the late Mrs. W. Halstead. 19, Constable-avenue. Burnley.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of embossed ivory satin, with a headdress of camellias and full-length embroidered veil. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and lily-of-the-valley.
Her bridesmaids were Misses Kathleen Tattersall (sister). Kay Tattersall (cousin) and Enid Ainsworth (cousin). The Misses Tattersall were attired in mist-blue silk crepe gowns with headdresses of silver leaves, forget-me-nots and blue net, and they carried Victorian posies. Miss Ainsworth wore a blue silk crepe gown with a blue flowered headdress with shoulder-length veil. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations.
Mr. George Roberts (friend of the bridegroom) was the best man. and Messrs. Willie Halstead (bridegroom's brother), Harry Metcalfe (Bridegroom's brotherin-law) and John Coates (friend) were the groomsmen. The ushers were Mr. J. H. Lancaster (bride's uncle) and Mr. D. Halstead (bridegroom's cousin).
The Rev. A. P. Richardson officiated at the ceremony, during which Mr. P. Preston played the hymns "The Voice that breathed o'er Eden" and "O, Father all creating."
The reception was held at the Co-operative Cafe.
