     Research Note: Manasseh seems to have vanished bef 1891 as Mary Ann says that she is a widow. However there is a death for him in 1928.
Between 1921 and 1923 he appears on the electoral Register at 10 Whittaker's Yard, Royton, Yorkshire.
Manasseh HALSTEAD was born in 1856 at Leeds, Yorkshire.1 He was the son of Henry HOLSTEAD and Hannah Dean CALVERT. In the census of 7 April 1861 at Walley Mill Cottages, Morley, Yorkshire, he was listed as aged 5 born Morley, the son of Henry HOLSTEAD.2 In the census of 2 April 1871 at 101 Jackson Lane, Morley, Yorkshire, he was listed as single, a Condenser Filler at Mill, aged 15 born Leeds, the son of Henry HOLSTEAD.3
Manasseh married Mary Ann LEONARD, daughter of Michael LEONARD and Mary (?), on 21 June 1875 at St Peter with St Cuthbert, Hunslet Moor, Yorkshire. He was a Fitter aged 20, a bachelor residing in Princes Field, Hunslet. His father was listed as Henry HOLSTEAD, a Manufacturer. After Banns. The marriage was witnessed by Thomas HOLSTEAD and Emma BEAUMONT.4,5

Henry HALSTEAD was baptised on 17 February 1828 at St Peter, Leeds, Yorkshire.1 In the census of 6 June 1841 at Mulberry Street, Leeds, Yorkshire, he was listed as aged 10 born in county, the assumed son of Richard HALSTEAD.2 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Nippet Lane, Leeds, Yorkshire, he was listed as single, a Clerk, aged 23 born Leeds, the son of Richard HALSTEAD.3
Henry married Hannah LUMBARD on 11 September 1851 at St Mark, Woodhouse, Yorkshire. He was a Butcher of full age, a bachelor residing in Frator Street. His father was listed as Richard HALSTEAD, a Farmer. By Licence. The marriage was witnessed by Benjamin SUTCLIFFE and Elizabeth LUMBARD.4,5

In the census of 2 April 1871 at Bay Horse Inn, Leeds, Yorkshire, he was listed as aged 7 born Leeds, the son of Henry HALSTEAD.2 In the census of 3 April 1881 at 10 Crimbles Street, Leeds, Yorkshire, he was listed as single, an Apprentice, aged 17 born Leeds, the son of Henry HALSTEAD.3 In the census of 5 April 1891 at 33 Harwood Street, Leeds, Yorkshire, he was listed as single, a Currier, aged 28 born Leeds, a Lodger. There is no Head of Household.4 In the census of 31 March 1901 at 38 York Street, Leeds, Yorkshire, he was listed as single, a Currier, aged 39 born Leeds, a Lodger of Chas E MAXWELL.5

In the census of 6 June 1841 at Pottery Field, Hunslet, Yorkshire, he was listed as aged 4 born in county, the assumed son of Thomas HALSTEAD.2 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Hunslet, Yorkshire, he was listed as a Flasher Tan Yard, aged 12 born Lindley, the son of Thomas HALSTEAD.3

Harry married Jane MIDGLEY on 23 November 1910 at St Mark, Woodhouse, Yorkshire. He was a Labourer aged 30, a bachelor residing at 27 Fenton Street. In the census of 6 June 1841 at Townsend, Morley, Yorkshire, he was listed as a Woollen Slubber, aged 20 born in county. in the household of amuel CLIFF.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Townsend, Morley, Yorkshire, he was listed as single, a Slubber of Wool, aged 31 born Nether Shillington, the son of John HOLSTEAD.2 In the census of 7 April 1861 at Townsend, Morley, Yorkshire, he was listed as single, a Woollen Card Cleaner, aged 41 born Ossett, the son of John HOLSTEAD.3 In the census of 2 April 1871 at Townsend, Morley, Yorkshire, he was listed as single, a Mill Hand, aged 51 born Ossett, the son of John HOLSTEAD.4
